Zach King, newly appointed Director of Goalkeeping for Orlando City Youth, has recently joined The Goalkeeping Network as a Staff Coach. He has a passion for the position, and a desire to develop goalkeepers of all ages.
Zach started his coaching career while in college, when he became the Director of Goalkeeping for Catawba Valley Youth, in Hickory, NC. During this time, he worked with youth of all ages and abilities.
During summer breaks from college, Zach worked as a staff coach for Orlando City’s Goalkeeping Schools. He had the pleasure of working under the tutelage of TGN staff, Chris Barocas, Jon Adams, and Lou Liberatore.
Zach, most recently, was a staff coach for Orlando City Youth, under the guidance of Lou Liberatore. He is currently working with the Orlando Pride (NWSL) as Assistant Goalkeeper Coach. This has given him an opportunity of working with professional goalkeepers, such as USWNT goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris, Haley Koppmeyer, and Lainey Burdett.
Zach’s playing career to him from the Orlando City DA to Lenoir Rhyne University. While at LR, he was a 4-year starter, accumulating nearly 5,000 minutes played. He was recognized as All-Conference his Junior and Senior years. He led his team to 2 NCAA tournaments, finishing with a career goals-against average of 1.08, and as 2nd all-time in shutouts (20).
